Community Programs
Throughout the year, Frisbie offers a variety of free health education programs, screenings and special events, including our Community Health Education Series, World Earth Day Event in April, and a Women's Health & Wellness Fair. In addition, the public has access to numerous support groups held at the Community Education & Conference Center. Please visit our Support Groups page to learn more.
Community Health Education Series
Each Spring and Fall Frisbie hosts two free Community Health Education Series. Each Community Lecture features a medical specialist or clinician presenting on their health topic of expertise. These informative presentations provide you with the opportunity to learn more about a health issue and ask questions.
All Community Health Education Lectures are free and begin at 6pm at Frisbie's Community Education & Conference Center, located on the hospital campus. For more information on or to register for a Community Health Education Lecture, please call 603-330-8986 or register online by visiting our Calendar.
SAFE SITTER® Classes
The Safe Sitter® program is a medically accurate program that teaches young adolescents how to handle emergencies when caring for young children. Thousands of young adolescents across the country have been trained by Safe Sitter® to handle life-threatening emergencies. During the course, students will get hands-on practice in basic lifesaving techniques so they are prepared to act in a crisis.
Safe Sitters also receive helpful tips to make them more confident caregivers. They learn safety precautions, how to understand children of different ages, and even the business of babysitting.
To successfully complete the Safe Sitter® program, students must pass a practical and written test to show that they have mastered key concepts and have the skills necessary to handle an emergency. The student contract and registration form must be completed to enroll in the program.
